The Guy You Wanted at Your Table.

Jayme "Jaymo" Marooney was the friend everyone wanted in the room. The one who cracked the joke that broke the tension. The one who pulled up the extra chair without being asked. The one who showed up with pizza when you were too tired to cook.

When Jaymo passed in 2023, we lost that energy. We built this foundation to keep it going — for the families who need that kind of friend right now.

More Than a Charity. A Community.

The Reality

When a parent gets sick, the "normal" stuff—soccer practice, homework, fun—often gets pushed to the side.

The Fix

We step into that gap. We aren't doctors treating a patient; we’re a team supporting a family. Our goal is simple: Give parents the space to heal, and give kids the permission to just be kids again.

Putting Love into Action - 2026 Programs

Four ways we show up in 2026. $40,000 committed across all four.

Inova's Life With Cancer Center

Every month, we stock the pantry shelves at Inova's Life With Cancer Center — crackers, juice, the kind of food that keeps a parent steady enough to drive home after a long treatment day. A parent who makes it home is a parent who tucks someone in. Every quarter, we stock their library with books the care team uses and families take home. Small things. Real difference.

Camp Kesem at UMD

We sponsored the fifth night of camp at the University of Maryland's Kesem chapter — a free overnight camp for kids who are impacted by a caregiver's cancer. We curate a care kit for every camper, and we show up at a counselor meeting to understand the work firsthand. Because showing up matters.

The Better Days Experience

A full-day takeover. Kesem counselors. Inova's Life With Cancer Center. Kids who need a day that feels nothing like a waiting room. We bring the energy Jaymo would've brought — the kind that makes a kid forget, just for a few hours, what their week has been.

Backpacks of Love

Backpacks. Filled. Delivered. For kids who deserve to walk into a classroom feeling like they've got what they need — because someone thought of them.

Carrying the Spirit Forward

We are family, friends, and neighbors committed to ensuring Jaymo’s kindness continues to ripple out. We run this ship to make sure every dollar raised turns into a moment of joy for a child.
